About Me
I have worked clinically as a physician assistant since 2011 in medical oncology and hospital medicine, with the majority of my practice dedicated to palliative care since 2014. I have been committed to education for more than a decade, serving as a preceptor, mentor, and guest lecturer since 2012, prior to coming to SMU.
Education
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Masters Degree, Physician Assistant Studies
Teaching Interests
Preparing students to become compassionate, equity‑focused leaders who advance systemic change through service, advocacy, and interprofessional collaboration. I am especially interested in integrating palliative medicine principles and serious illness communication skills throughout the curriculum to strengthen learners’ ability to provide patient‑centered, empathetic care.
Scholarly Interests
Scholarship has focused on improving the quality, equity, and implementation of serious illness care. I would like to explore how community service and engagement with underserved populations enhance PA learners’ understanding of social determinants of health and their ability to provide equitable, compassionate care.
