The Department of Education issued final regulations in regards to Gainful Employment (GE) for schools that participate in Title IV. Those regulations mandate that institutions must disclose to prospective students certain information about their GE programs. Since all of Samuel Merritt University's programs lead to a degree (Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral), we are exempt from these regulations.
The Value of an SMU Education
Samuel Merritt University has offered excellent healthcare educations for the past 100 years. Since 1970, the financial aid office has maintained a default rate of less than 3% and a zero percent default rate for the past ten years. This history confirms that our students graduate with the skills necessary to obtain high quality, high earning jobs and can afford to repay their loans. The proper value of a Samuel Merritt University education lies with the experiences our students have and the opportunities they have upon graduation.
