About the Health Education Center (HEC)
The Health Education Center (HEC) provides facilities and services that enhance the learning experience for SMU students and educators. We also provide an attractive yet functional setting designed to support events, meetings and conferences for the University, Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, and the community. Our users can expect outstanding customer service in a safe, friendly University environment.
The primary purpose of the University classroom facilities located within the Health Education Center (HEC) is to serve the University community. Regularly scheduled University classes take first priority for space, followed by University meetings and events. Alta Bates Summit Medical Center / Sutter Health and its affiliates are next on the priority ladder, followed by all other outside organizations.
